The Norwegian art council have bought "Thugs", thru their purchasing programme.  This means that every library in Norway will have copies out for loan from early next year. Infact, this is the second Desperado album to been picked up by this purchase programme. Last year "Evacuation" was picked out. Happy holidays!

You know you have been on quite a journey, when it even takes weeks after you have gotten safe home to write some words about it. I just realised that i have not been home on a weekend since the end of june. When drove off to start the tour in the middle of september you could still feel the summer in Trondheim. When we came back on the airport two weeks ago, the autumn had already becomed winter. So why did we leave in our van and returned by plane?
Well, our car broke down. many times. The last time it was so fucked that there were nothing to do at the moment. Luckily it was after playing the last show in France, and it was a really nice evening in Lons Le Saunier. Somewhere on the autobahn the next morning the car just blew up and everything from the brakes to the stearing stopped working. Germany is obvious not a good place to have trouble with your car, ironicly enough owning a german build car. Especially not on a sunday morning. We called the road rescue, and he took our car on his truck, and drove us to the smallest dorf he could find, just to be sure that we would not stand a chance to solve things easily. We asked him to please drive us to a other place, but he just blabbed something on german and ignored us. We tried to get help in the Dorf, but all we could get was a overprized hotelroom and cold shoulders. Next morning we went to the local supposed to be a Ford Workshop, but it looked more like Bob the Builder's private garage. We got to move the last gig in Trondheim one day and stood there all day trying to convince the garage that they did not have a clue what they were doing. 8 hours later they told us that they did not have a clue what they were doing. So we called our car-insurance company and said that we were fucked. So we got to leave the car, with all the gear in it, and travel home on their expence. It took even the whole night to find a way to get out of that shithole, finally we found a guy nice enough to drive us to Hannover Airport for...well, around a german week salory. Next morning we flew home and got to play the last gig. The car just arrived after beeing transportated home yesterday. As the Van looks right now, it seems like they have dragged it upside down on the autobahn, and then pulled it thru the bottom of the northern sea back to Trondheim. Well, at leas we got the car back. Never trust the corportate world or the inhabitants of a small German Dorf.

But the tour was great. The best so far! Thanks to all the bands we played with, to all the promoteurs,to all we crashed and eat to,  to all the people who meet up on the shows, and talked and hanged with us.

A special thanks to Knute and Magni for their roadiework, Thomas Danger for the work on the Norwegian tour, To John and Jill for their hospitality and to S-a-N Agency and Hero PR for the England Shows, Tanja for the european part and lending out here home once again, Jakub and Marek from Czech, Boris for housing and helping us in France, The Ford workshopguys in Lyon for their efforts, bandtravels.com for getting us home safe, Storås Utested for their effort, and at last, Bodø Hardcorefestival and Uffa for making this last weekend a really memorable ending of the year 2006 for our sake.

Our van broke down this weekend, so we hardly make it to the Lyon show on Sunday night. The Barcelona and Laudio shows had unfortunately to be cancelled. We are very sad and sorry about this. Fortunately enough we got very good help from a Ford workshop in Lyon who could fix up the van again, so no it is all sunshine again.
 
So the rest of the dates is still on, but Zaragoza got replaced by a close city called Bergara. Thanks to Boris from Lyon for taking good care of us and helping us out getting the van fixed, and Arthur from Bilbao for finding a show replacement on so short notice.

Again sorry Barcelona and Laudio. We will come back.

We will have a homecoming party and concert at Storås Utested in Trondheim, Monday the 6th of november. This is the same day that we are back from tour. Goat The Head will also play their caveman deathmetal. This night should be a blast. We also have new merchandise for sale, both t-shirts and hoddies.

The show begins at 22PM. It cost 80 NOK. Really cheap liquid all night.

Desperado will play at the allmighty Bodø Hardcore Festival friday the 17th of November. The last leg of the european tour is taking shape, 3 dates in France and 4 in Spain is now confirmed.

And we made the headlines today, at this local newspaper called Gudbrandsdølen Dagningen. The result will be available sometime in November.

We have added one show at Lillehammer, so we will play one all ages, and one for the drinking class. The dates in Tromsø is Switched by the way. We now play Tvibit the 13th and Kaos the 14th. The Stavanger date is moved from the 21th to the 20th.

This thursday, we will have a prelistening of our new album at Blæst. We will play the entire album, and when that's done, the wonderful Evil Beaver from LA enter the stage.
The prelistening is free, the concert cost 80NOK / 110NOK. Begins around 22:00

The majority of the european tourdates is now launched on the shows-section. We will visit the UK, Germany, Zcech Rep, Austria, Spain, France and more this fall. The album is sent to the pressing plant. It will be released in Scandianavia the 18th of september.

We had a blast at the two last festival we played this summer, The Oyafestival and Krocketfestival. Pictures from the Oya Fest is published on the pictures page by the way. Now the leaves soon will say goodbye to the trees, and were up for our 4th cold autumn touring, in a row.

Back from Slottsfjell. We had a really great time, Rivals Pub have to be one of the coolest venues in Norway. Thanks to the people at Rivals and slottsfjell, Tanja for driving us and The Sons of Saturn for sharing stage with us. Next up is Sjona festival in two weeks, now it's time to finish the recording.

Desperado will play at the fantastic Trænafestival friday the 7th of july. This festival take place
on a small island up in the north of Norway, 60 km outside the costline. Other bands on the line up is Satyricon, Jr. Ewing, The Mormones, Marit Larsen, Maria Mena, Seigmen, King Khan and many more.

Desperado have made new friends in the UK. Stunted Records will this fall release an album with selected tracks from our two previous releases for the UK marked. Our european tour will also include two weeks in the UK in early october. We are pretty exited about this, because we have never played the UK before, and we have never had external help to release something before either.

Time for a little update. We have gotten a new guitarplayer. His name is Asgeir, and he have played guitar for the brilliant Reilly Express for many years. The first consert with our new line up will be at the Festival Trysil For Svingende june 22th. We will start to record the new album at the end of june. Our beloved and dedicated guitarist Eivind has decided to quit the band, due to lack of inspiration. He has been in Desperado since the very beginning 3 years ago, and we respect his decision and urge to do something other in life, than just tour, records and work. He joined in the band the same night he moved to Trondheim, and have ever since given up a lot of effort to keep the band in motion. We noticed that something was wrong early this winter, and that things were not the same for him anymore with the band.We are very grateful that he awaited the decision until we were finished with the last concerts for the winter, because the last few gigs would not have been that much fun, if we knew that this would be the last ride with one of our best friends. We wish him the best of luck in whatever he decides to do in the future.

For two weeks ago we went up to Storås, rented a cabin and made new a lot of new material for the upcoming album. So far it looks really good, and we will record it sometime during this spring. The album will be released in Scandinavia first in September, followed by a lot of tours. We will also play some festivals this summer.
